China’s Great Wall Motors (WEY, Great Wall Motor Company Limited) is reportedly preparing a new tiny SUV for its break-way Tank brand that was originally a sub-brand of WEY before becoming an independent marque last year, that will sit under and be inspired by the larger Tank 300.

As reported by China’s Sohu, the small off-roader, dubbed the Tank 100, will take after the popular 300 borrowing its squared-off, part Meredes-Benz G-Wagen, part Ford Bronco, part (insert your own model here) looks. It’s not clear just how big the Tank 100 will be, but it’s being suggested that it will be larger than Suzuki’s Jimny, possibly offering both three- and five-door body styles.

Being that the reports describe it as a miniaturized Tank 300, you won’t be surprised to learn that the cabin is said to be very similar to the larger Tank 300. As such, the 100 could sport a large infotainment screen and a digital gauge cluster. The Tank 300 also features large circular climate control vents which could make their way into the 100 as well.

Powertrain details have also yet to be confirmed but some media outlets suggest it could get a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

Update and correction: We got duped by the images shared on a number of Chinese websites as these were cheeky photoshops based on the Suzuki Jimny, as seen in the above links, including some with an extra set of doors. We apologize for the mistake.
